Francesca Ling is an Asian-American director in the film, television, and commercial industry.  She began her career as an actor, and her award-winning projects led her to network TV and national commercial campaigns, as well as working alongside Academy Award nominee James Caan and Tony Award winner Jason Robert Brown.  She studied drama and performed in Chicago and London.  Since moving to Los Angeles, she has entertained audiences on network television with guest starring roles on CSI: Vegas, Hawaii Five-0, Intelligence, and as "Parker," her series recurring guest star role on God Friended Me on CBS.  She has worked in features, both for Netflix and independent films.  And she has starred in multiple national commercial campaigns.  Francesca is also a classically trained singer and has an established musical theater career, most recently performing in the hit Rodgers and Hammerstein musical The King And I at the renowned 1,250-seat La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts.

Francesca's directing career began with ReelArc, a New York and Los Angeles based production company, specializing in top-quality demo reel scenes for actors.  She has now directed over 50 short projects, totaling 175 scenes.  The opportunity gave Francesca a unique training ground working with actors of all experience levels, personalities, and individual needs.  And with a small crew, she was involved in every aspect of the frame, from working closely with the DP to establish the tone and style of the scene visually, to set design and costuming.

Her directorial film debut, Lacktate, is on the festival circuit.  It premiered at the Oscar-qualifying LA Shorts International Film Festival in July and is currently a finalist at the Los Angeles Short Film Awards.
